How to get to Warszawa

The location of Warsaw guarantees convenient air, road and train connections. You can choose between any of the world major airlines which maintain daily connections with Warsaw International Airport and low-cost careers flying to Warsaw from many European airports. The newly rebuilt Warsaw International Airport Okęcie is located within the city limits and the price of one-way taxi from the airport to the Warsaw Marriott Hotel should not exceed 15 EUR (during the day i.e. between 6.00 a.m. and 10.00 p.m.). Recommended taxi corporations which operate at the Warsaw International Airport : Merc (0048 22 677 77 77), Sawa Taxi (0048 22 644 44 44), Radio Taxi 9191. Alternatively, you can get on the bus line 175 and directly reach the city centre. The bus also stops by the Marriot Hotel. The city has convenient and inexpensive railway connections with many capital cities of surrounding countries (e.g. Vienna, Prague, Berlin, Budapest). The railway station Warszawa Centralna is situated in the very heart of the City – a few minutes walk from the conference site.

Public transportation system in Warszawa

The urban transportation system in Warsaw is well organized, inexpensive and quite efficient. It consists of the underground (subway / metro), commuter trains, tramways and buses. Price of one ticket for any of the means – 2.80 PLN (approx. 0,70 EUR as per July 2010). However, visitors who would like to intensively use the public transport, are advised to buy short-term tickets (e.g. 32 PLN / 7 days). International students are entitled to 50% fare reduction upon presentation of a valid ISIC card (International Student Identity Card).
